Charlottetown Tennis Club

The Charlottetown Tennis Club (CTC) has been a non-profit tennis club in the Port Union area of Toronto's Scarborough district since 1973 and is affiliated with the Scarborough Tennis Federation and the Ontario Tennis Association. The club has three outdoor, floodlit courts for night play, located next to the Port Union Recreation Centre, and has amenities such as restrooms and a gym.

The CTC offers a variety of training programs for adults and children: for adults, six-week Adult Beginner Clinics are held regularly in the evening sessions; for children, Orange Ball, Green Ball and Regular Ball programs are offered as supplementary classes for ages 3 to 17. The club also hosts House Leagues, intra-club tournaments and participates in Scarborough Tennis Federation (STF) inter-club competitions at levels C2, B2 and …, with various teams winning championships from the club.

Experienced instructors like Adam Weatherby and Jordan Anthony are dedicated to providing private or group training for all levels, supported by a team of young, expert instructors (like Tony Zhao).

Services & Conveniences

  1. It has 3 floodlit outdoor tennis courts that are open from 8am to 11pm.
  2. Users can use public or street parking.
  3. All three courts are equipped with professional lighting for night play.
  4. The club is located near the Port Union Community Centre and will likely use its public changing room and restroom facilities.
  5. Given its outdoor location, there is no need for ventilation. However, the space around the courts provides an open and comfortable area for warming up and playing.
  6. Opening hours for the public (non-members) on specific days: Tuesday and Wednesday 4–6pm and Sunday 1–3pm (and 10–12pm on holidays).
  7. The club is managed by Tennis Canada professional coaches such as Jordan Anthony and Tony Zhao, with private and group training sessions available.
