DESCRIPTION

Ford Performance Centre

The Ford Performance Centre is a state-of-the-art hockey training and competition facility in Etobicoke, Toronto. It features four NHL-standard ice rinks and one Olympic-standard (IIHF) ice rink with a capacity of up to 1,000 spectators; the other rinks have a capacity of 200.


Services & Conveniences:

  • 3 NHL standard ice rinks (dimensions 200′ × 85′).
  • 1 large Olympic ice rink (IIHF) with a capacity of up to 1,000 spectators, NHL rinks have a capacity of 200.
  • 4 public locker rooms for each rink with professional facilities, including physiotherapy, analysis and treatment rooms, team offices and recovery space.
  • The Olympic rink seats up to 1,000 people, each NHL rink has a capacity of about 200 spectators.
  • According to users, there is adequate parking on site; coffee shop and pro shop services are also available.
  • Professional lighting systems for night games and training and excellent ventilation of the hall are designed to maintain ice performance and environmental quality.
  • The official office of the Hockey Hall of Fame DK Seaman Resource Centre, NHL Alumni Association, coffee shop, pro shop, and team management lounge are located in the main building.


Events & Offerings

  • Private ice rink reservations for practice, team, or private matches are available online.
  • Hosts grassroots leagues such as the Faustina Hockey House League for ages U7 through seniors, with all matches played indoors in the main arena.
  • The complex also hosts local, city, and international tournaments.
  • Includes programs such as Stick & Puck, Shinny (free play without a goalie), and Public Skate, which are walk-in events. Safety equipment such as helmets and gloves are required.
  • Training programs and camps are offered by partners such as 101 Sports Group, including the "Hockey 101 Academy" and skill classes for kids to improve technique and footwork.


Book Now

  1. To use the service, you must first create an account or activate an existing account in the City of Toronto’s Online Registration & Booking system.
  2. Unaffiliated users must provide valid contact information and address and verify the account.
  3. Go to the official Ford Performance Centre website and navigate to Facility Rentals → Ice Rental and review and select the rink schedule (Leafs, Marlies, Community, Hockey Canada Rink).
  4. Rentals are offered on an hourly basis (one hour = 50 minutes of play + 10 minutes of ice maintenance).
  5. Individuals or private groups can make reservations online or by calling the centre at (416) 251-5219 ext. 226.
  6. For private tournaments or events, you can use the One-Time Booking option in the City’s Parks & Recreation Facilities Booking section. You must complete the Assignment, Insurance and Authorized Expenses form.
  7. These reservations must be made at least 2 to 14 days in advance and are often non-cancellable or non-transferable.
  8. Activities such as Stick & Puck, Shinny and Public Skate are walk-in and no reservations are required.
  9. Some free family sessions are offered on Saturdays from September to June and require safety equipment (helmet, gloves).

FAQs

Can I participate in Drop-In Hockey games?

Yes, there are programs like Stick & Puck (all ages) and Shinny (adults 19+ only). Whinny is goalie-free, non-contact, and requires safety equipment including a helmet.

What equipment is required?

At Shinny, CSA helmets are highly recommended for everyone, gloves and neck guards are highly recommended, and full face shields are required for under-19s. Players must bring their own skates, stick, and puck.
