Herb Carnegie Centennial Centre

The Herbert H. Carnegie Centennial Centre is a multi-purpose complex in north Toronto, Ontario, built in 1966 and named in 2001 in honour of Herbert H. Carnegie. In the winter, the centre features an indoor ice rink for skating and hockey, and is home to the North York Rangers.

In the summer, the ice inside the rink is removed and the floor is converted into a "dry pad" for sports such as ball hockey and lacrosse. This makes the centre suitable for both hockey and skating, as well as for indoor summer sports such as ball hockey and lacrosse.

Key Features & Amenities

  • The facility has an indoor ice rink (for hockey/skating) that converts to a "dry pad" in the summer for sports such as "ball hockey" and "lacrosse".
  • It has locker rooms and restrooms/restrooms.
  • For spectators, there is a spectator stand on the west side of the hall.
  • It has a buffet/catering booth that offers casual food/drinks.
  • In the 2023 — 2024 upgrade structure, improvements were made to the air conditioning/cooling and refrigeration/icing systems.

Programs & Activities

  • Public skating and recreational skating.
  • Ice hockey leagues and tournaments (adults, youth and teenagers)
  • In the summer: sports such as ball hockey and lacrosse on dry pad indoor fields.
  • Roller hockey or floor hockey leagues/programs.
  • Martial arts classes.
