Regent Park Athletic Grounds

Regent Park Athletic Grounds is a public sports complex in the heart of Toronto's Regent Park, featuring a main artificial turf field suitable for soccer, a running track (suitable for running, walking or jogging), a basketball court and a roller skating rink, as well as seasonal ice skating.

The space is completely free, has night lighting until around 11 p.m., and is a popular spot for a variety of pickup games—especially soccer. In addition, the running track, basketball court and other facilities are suitable for a variety of workouts, fitness programs and social gatherings.



Programs & Activities

  • Pick-up Soccer: Often held on weekend evenings or mornings, no reservations required—people just show up and join in.
  • Local Team and Soccer Practice Sessions (Regent Park Soccer – RPS): A local group that holds weekly practice sessions, such as Saturday morning practices with technical drills and light group games.
  • Extreme Toronto Sports Club (XTSC): Turf Soccer 7s is held at Regent Park during the spring and summer seasons.
  • Pickleball: There are several indoor and outdoor pickleball courts, and there are drop-in activities for a fee.
  • Basketball, ball/floor hockey, running track and ping-pong: Numerous facilities including a basketball court, running track, ping-pong and a hockey pad are available for a variety of sports and recreation throughout the season. Night lighting until around 11 p.m. also facilitates sports activities.

Regent Park Athletic Grounds Reservations and Scheduling

  1. Open the City of Toronto website and go to the “Online Registration & Booking” section. On this page, you’ll find the “Check Availability,” “Book Now,” and “View Schedule” features as navigational guides.
  2. First, create a new account in the city’s online registration system (or activate your existing account) to access the booking feature.
  3. Once logged in, select “Book a Facility” and filter by facility type to find Regent Park Athletic Grounds in the list of available venues.
  4. If you need to make a one-time booking for a game or practice, use the One-Time Booking option. For recurring bookings such as leagues or seasonal training sessions, see the Seasonal & League Booking option.
  5. Follow the steps to select a time, view the schedule, confirm your booking, and pay. Note that reservations are usually non-refundable and non-transferable and insurance may be required for some activities.
