Vancouver United Football Club
Vancouver United FC is one of the largest youth soccer clubs in the Lower Mainland region of British Columbia, Canada, with over 3,000 male and female players ranging in age from 3 to 17. The club offers a variety of programs for different ages, from “First Kicks” for very young children (U4-U7), to “Divisional” programs for U11 to U18 age groups. There is also an “Academy Program” for U9 to U13 players, which includes more specialized training – including goalkeeping skills. In addition to field soccer, VanUFC offers programs such as futsal.
Programs & Activities
- First Kicks (U4-U8): Program for children ages U4 to U8, with fall, winter, and spring seasons. Emphasis on basic skills, enjoyment of the game, and parent involvement.
- U8-U10 Spring League: Spring league for U8 to U10 teams where teams play once a week. Includes introductory activities, games, and technical instruction.
- Divisional Soccer (U11-U18): For U11 to U18 players; teams compete in regional leagues such as the BCCSL and VYSA depending on the division level (Div 1, Div 2, Div 3). The quality and competition is higher at these levels.
- VanU+ Program (U11-U12 Div 1): This program is specifically for Div 1 teams at U11-U12. Includes more training with a professional coach, academy training, and optional league and game/tournament projects. More comprehensive fees and facilities.
- Academy Program (U9-U13 & Goalkeepers U9-U14): A program for those who want more advanced technical and tactical training; includes Academy and Goalkeeper Academy sessions. This program is offered at different times of the year.
- Skill Centre: A short-term training program (e.g. spring) focused on skill development, local competition, and participation in local leagues or tournaments for specific age groups.
- Metro Program / Van U Metro: Higher level (Metro) teams for older age groups (e.g. U13-U18) that compete in more competitive leagues. This program is more comprehensive and has a higher fee and level of training.

2. Choose the right program by age group
- First Kicks (U4-U8): For children aged 4 to 8.
- Second Kicks (U9-U10): For children aged 9 to 10.
- Divisional (U11-U18): For teenagers aged 11 to 18.
- Academy (U9-U13): Specialized programs for the U9 to U13 age groups.
- Camps: Summer and seasonal camps.
3. Register for the desired program
- Log in to PowerUp.
- Click on the "Register Now" option.
- Select the desired program from the list.
- Enter the required information and complete the registration.
4. Submit the required documents
- To complete the registration, you may need to submit documents such as Proof of Age.
5. Payment of registration fees
- Payment of fees for the selected program is made through the PowerUp system. Payment information will be available after completing the registration process.

Do I need to be evaluated to register for Div 1 or Div 2 teams?
Yes, players interested in playing for Div 1 or Div 2 teams must participate in Phase 3 evaluations. These evaluations are conducted by independent coaches and help shape the teams for the following season.
What should I do if I am unable to participate in Phase 3 evaluations?
If you are unable to attend Phase 3, you must register and also contact the club’s technical director to review your status.
