Glendon Athletic Club

Glendon Athletic Club (GAC) at York University’s Glendon Campus features three outdoor tennis courts, with membership including online booking and easy access to tennis tournaments and lessons. In addition to tennis, GAC also offers members access to four squash courts, six pickleball courts, a gym and weight and cardio room, a 25-yard swimming pool, an indoor golf course, group studios and boxing.

Group tennis classes, private lessons, summer camps and social events are also held periodically, and can be booked online via the portal. The facility provides a modern and professional environment for racquet sports enthusiasts, improving fitness and social interaction, with the main aim of promoting the health and fitness of the university and local community.



Programs & Activities

1. Pickleball:

  • Includes social Round Robin, beginner classes and summer camps for adults and teens.
  • Covering levels 2.0 to 3.5, women’s specific tournaments and online booking facilities through a dedicated player portal.


2. Tennis:

  • Junior Jumpstart programs for ages 6-14 with levels ranging from beginner to advanced
  • Group, semi-private classes and summer camps taught by experienced coaches.


3. Squash:

  • Includes children’s program (ages 6-14) including Fundamentals, High Performance 1 and 2 classes
  • As well as adult programs such as Round Robin, Boot Camp and women’s classes with adaptive levels.


4. Aquatics:

  • Aquafit classes on weekdays (variable times).
  • Facilities such as Lengths Swim and recreational swimming for all ages are available with online bookings through the GAC portal.


5. Group Exercise & Fitness:

  • Cardio/Weights Interval Training
  • Cycling (group stationary bike)
  • Yoga (Hatha, Vinyasa)
  • Pilates, Zumba, Tai Chi and Low Impact / Dance Cardio combinations
  • These classes are offered in a group studio and Silver suitable for a variety of levels.


6. Personal Training:

  • Certified trainers for a variety of goals such as weight loss, improved athletic performance or rehabilitation.
  • Cost: $80 for members and $90 for non-members per one-hour session, bookable through the portal.

How to Book at Glendon Athletic Club

1. Create an Account and Log in to the Membership Portal

You must log in to the Member Portal or Fusion Portal to join and make a reservation.

University members (students, faculty, staff) log in using Passport York; others must create a new account


2. Purchase a Membership

After logging in, select the Membership section and add your membership type (such as monthly or annual) to your shopping cart.

Sign the waiver form and complete the payment; you will then be sent an email


3. Book a Court, Class, or Camp

Log in to the RacquetClubSoft system to reserve tennis, pickleball, or squash courts. Programs such as Round Robins, classes, and camps can be booked online.


4. Sign up for exercise programs and classes

By logging into Paid Programs, you can view and sign up for classes such as AQUAFIT, Pilates, Bootcamp, Key Camps (for children/adults) and exercise consulting.

The complex is accessible by bus lines 124 Sunnybrook or 162 Lawrence-Donway from Lawrence subway station (Yonge-University line); it is a short walk to campus after the stop.

University parking is available for members; some users have also reported street parking near campus.

FAQs

How do I get a membership?

To become a member, you must register on the GAC Member Portal (www.glendonac.ca) and select the membership type that best suits your status (student, staff, community, etc.). Some membership categories require approval and you can complete the form and pay online.


Do I need to make a reservation to use the facilities?

The Gym and Weight Room are walk-in.

Advance reservations are required for group classes, cycling, the gym, and racquetball courts (tennis, pickleball, squash). Class capacity is limited.
