Trinity Bellwoods Park

Trinity Bellwoods Park — located in downtown Toronto — is a 15-hectare public park with over 400 trees and a wide variety of green spaces and recreational facilities. The park hosts a variety of activities and sports: it has 8 tennis courts, 3 softball/baseball fields, 2 volleyball courts, an “off-leash” dog area, walking/biking trails, and green space suitable for picnics and walks. It also has an artificial ice rink in the winter that is suitable for skating and hockey; in the summer, the same space may also be used for “pickleball” or ball hockey. In addition to sports, the park is suitable for recreation, socializing, picnicking, walking the dog or spending free time, and is a good option for families, children, and even recreational athletes.

Key Features & Amenities

How to book

  1. If you want to reserve a “special space” in a park — such as a sports field, baseball/volleyball/tennis field, ice rink, or space for a gathering, picnic, ceremony, private class, group or event — you need to contact the City of Toronto’s “Parks, Forestry & Recreation Client Services” department.
  2. To make a formal reservation, you must complete a permit / space-use application. This includes a “one-time space use form.”
  3. For simple events — such as a picnic for a small group (if under the quorum, say 25 people) — a permit may not be required.
  4. For larger events, selling food, drinks, loud music or renting equipment — a special permit (“Special Event Booking”) is usually required.
  5. Reservations are guaranteed by checking the time/space availability first, then the form and payment (if required) are made — as is standard procedure for City of Toronto facility reservations.
